Any time spent in Donald’s company was time well spent. In our case, many hours were spent sitting at a wet / dry, hot / cold, sunny / dull midge infested forest rally stage alongside Donald and the team in the Rescue Unit. He was always cheery and a great blether with a very sharp comic wit. However, when the call came in and we had to do our thing Donald was one of the most competent of Motorsport Rescuers. Perhaps some of the best memories were made at the Isle of Mull Hotel between the different legs of the Mull Rally. What a laugh we had when Donald invited me very publicly to listen to his new clicking heart valve! At the end of one of the Mull jaunts, we spent the best of evenings in Donald’s company at the firework display in Tobermory. The Rescue Unit became a taxi for an undisclosed number of passengers from Craignure to Tobermory and back with Donald at the wheel!

Great memories and a great friend. Our condolences to all the family at such a distressing time.
